Prosser is a small town with a big attitude, located 35 miles outside of the Tri-Cities. Prosser serves as the Benton County seat and has a population of 6,130. The Prosser School District maintains 6 schools and serves nearly 3000 enrolled students.

The local economy is based on agriculture – grapes, apples, cherries, hops, asparagus, corn, and wheat are the primary crops. Prosser is the home of delicious Chukar Cherries and is known as the birthplace of the Washington wine industry.

The community is located along the Yakima River, bordered on the north by the Rattlesnake Hills and on the south by the Horse Heaven Hills. Prosser maintains 6 city parks (including an aquatic center) on 27 acres. There is a strong focus on youth sports and plenty of opportunities for young athletes.

Along with the rest of the Tri-Cities, Prosser boasts 300 sunny days per year, offering many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, and water sports. It’s a great place if you are looking for a small town.
