Kennewick is the largest community in the Tri-Cities with a population of 84,620. The city covers 25 square miles and features a solid, fast growing economy with residential growth in many areas. Kennewick School District maintains 32 schools with an enrollment of nearly 20,000 students.
Kennewick hosts the Tri-City Americans hockey team, along with other sports and entertainment venues. Events take place at the Three Rivers Entertainment District which includes the Toyota Center and Three Rivers Convention Center. The Southridge Sports and Events Complex is a 52 acre development with indoor gymnastiums, outdoor fields, a 9/11 memorial, and the 100+ year old restored Carousel of Dreams.
The city serves as the retail hub for the area with Columbia Center Mall and nearby retail shops. Historic downtown Kennewick is the place for antique and specialty shops, galleries, and local breweries. The city is committed to restoring and revitalizing the downtown area.
